Like many people who read "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and the other books in Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy, I was thoroughly impressed with the way Noomi Rapace brought such an impossibly-described character as goth girl superhacker Lisbeth Salander to the screen in the original Swedish films. But - and I'm probably in the minority here - I'm really anxious to see what Rooney Mara does in the same role in David Fincher's remake. Rapace seemed a bit older than I pictured, and Rooney has more of a waif-ish stature.
Of course, having said that, when I was inexplicably struck by the need to draw the character earlier this week, my version skewed heavily towards Rapace's likeness. Proving that I'm most likely full of crap, even in my own mind's eye.
Eh, what can you do? I had fun with this one and liked the way it turned out. I may post the black & white version on my Tumblr site later. Which by the way, I have a Tumblr site now, because of course I do. I'll update with the link if I do that. UPDATE: That Tumblr link would be here -> [link]

Fantastic picture, man! I feel fortunate for having only seen the David Fincher version so far, I can't imagine the book or Swedish film being any better... When I realized Rooney Mara was the same girl from the Nightmare on Elm Street remake my mind was blown. Serious props to her for going from that terrible film to this amazing role...
Nice work. Personally, I couldn't watch Noomi Rapace in the original Swedish-version. However, Rooney Mara did it in a way that can only be described as awesome.
Far as I'm concerned, Rooney did the character more realistically and more wonderfully at the same time. Noomi was very entertaining, but seemed a lot more Hollywood than the freaking American actor. Very nice drawing, by the way. It has a nice, gritty, Todd Macfarlane/Lee Bermejo feel to it.
